About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL NAME] LLC ("taaake", "we"), registered in [STATE], United States. They apply to the taaake app for Mac and to taaake.com. By downloading or using taaake you accept them. If you don't, don't use taaake.

Who can use taaake

You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract. If you use taaake for a company, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.

Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use taaake on your Macs, for personal or professional use. You may not sell it, rent it, modify it, reverse engineer it (except where the law allows it) or use it to build a competing product.

taaake is free today. If we ever charge for it, we'll tell you the price and conditions before you pay anything.

The AI model you connect

taaake works with an AI model that you connect with your own account or API key (today, Claude from Anthropic). By connecting it, you authorize taaake to send it the transcripts of your calls, as text, to generate suggestions, corrections, translations and reports. That use is between you and the model's provider: the provider bills it, if anything is billed, and your agreement with the provider and its usage policies apply. You must comply with them. taaake is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with the model's provider.

Consent of the people on your calls

This is the most important rule. taaake transcribes what the other people on your call say. You must:

• Inform the other participants that you use a live transcription tool before you use it, and get their consent wherever the law requires it (for example, in US states such as California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Washington, in the European Union and in Colombia).
• Not use taaake to listen to calls you are not part of, or to transcribe anyone in secret.
• Follow your employer's rules and any confidentiality agreement that applies to your calls.

You are responsible for how you use taaake and for the transcripts you keep. If someone doesn't agree to be transcribed, don't use taaake on that call.

Acceptable use

You may not use taaake to break the law, violate the privacy or rights of others, harass, deceive, or circumvent the security of taaake or of other services. You may not use it in countries or by people subject to sanctions by the United States or other applicable laws.

AI can be wrong

Transcriptions, suggestions, corrections, translations, levels and reports are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. They are a help, not professional advice. Check what matters before you say it or rely on it, especially for commitments, figures, legal, medical or financial matters.

Your content

Your transcripts and reports are yours and stay on your Mac. We don't receive them and we don't claim any right over them. Your privacy is explained in our privacy policy.

Right to refuse or end the service

We may suspend or end your access to taaake if you seriously break these terms, if you use taaake in a way that puts other people at risk or exposes us to legal liability, or if the law requires it. We will never do it for discriminatory reasons. You can stop using taaake at any time by uninstalling it.

Changes and updates

We may update taaake and change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you beforehand on the website or in the app. If you keep using taaake after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

No warranties

taaake is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and that taaake will always work without errors or interruptions.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim related to taaake is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that the consumer protection law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because you used taaake in breach of these terms or of the law (for example, by transcribing someone without the consent the law requires), you will cover the damages and reasonable costs that result.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Before any dispute, write to us at hello@taaake.com and we'll try to solve it within 30 days. If we can't, the courts of [STATE] will have jurisdiction, unless the law of your country gives you the right to go to your local courts.

Other terms

If a clause of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a clause doesn't mean we give it up. You may not transfer these terms without our permission; we may transfer them if taaake changes owner.

Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Claude and the other names of products and companies mentioned on taaake.com belong to their owners. taaake is not affiliated with them. The photos on taaake.com are illustrations made for taaake.
